All that jazz.

Up and coming jazz superstar Anthony Strong is a good friend, and a fellow fan of comics-inspired line drawn style.

Dan Howard (Creative Director) says: "He asked us to design his debut album, and to develop a look and feel that he could establish as his own. I hand-drew the main illustration, then scanned it and coloured it digitally before putting the whole design, layout and typography together."

The theme was a moody jazz club, comics style. Reducing the colour palette down to a minimum, using dramatic lighting effects and keeping the whole thing simple helps create the desired mood.

After the album was launched, Anthony asked us to create his website (see image further down page). The brief was for a cool, clean and laid-back site to reflect his music and style. A minimalist design, using key bold features on each page to add some fun (picture frames, TV background for videos). The site was successfully launched last year and has enjoyed a huge increase in traffic.
